What's next for Justice Department after Trump's classified documents case dismissed
Judge Aileen Cannon's dismissal of the classified documents case against former President Trump is his second major legal victory in weeks. In a 93-page ruling, Cannon said the appointment of special counsel Jack Smith, who is overseeing the case, was unlawful. The Justice Department is expected to appeal the ruling. MILWAUKEE (AP) — Former President Donald Trump said he plans to announce his vice presidential pick on Monday, the first day of the Republican National Convention. It remains unclear whether the assassination attempt on Trump Saturday at his Pennsylvania rally has changed the former president’s thinking about his potential second-in-command. But he told Fox News Channel host Bret Baier in a call that he planned to make his pick Monday, the anchor said on air.
