Alumni of Brandon High School celebrate teacher Mary Force
BRANDON—We all had at least one teacher who made a difference in our lives, who understood us when no one else seemed to, who guided us when others gave up, who provided encouragement when we most needed it, who got more from us than we thought we could give, or who gave us the tough love we needed to pull ourselves together.

Rockin the Region with Scott Forrest
A big weekend is upon us and a great way to celebrate it is by going to the Foundry on Saturday to see Scott Forrest at 6 p.m. I’ve known Scott for a while but recently reconnected with him musically. He did a showcase that George Nostrand and I put on at A Sound Space and he blew me away. Scott plays something for everyone. It’s just him and his guitar, and a whole lot of musical fun. Scott plays all over the state and in New Hampshire as well. This is his only local gig for a bit but he also plays the Foundry July 26, Aug. 16, 24 and 30. You can see him July 18 on the Hancock town green, part of their free concert series at 6:30 p.m.

REVIEW: ‘Beauty Queen of Leenane’ stuns at Dorset Theatre Festival
It was a rainy drive up through the woods of Dorset Saturday afternoon to take in the Martin McDonagh minor modern classic “The Beauty Queen of Leenane” on Saturday afternoon. We had just made it to our seat when thunder clapped from the sound system (designed by Fitz Patton) and the sound and presence of rain dripping could be heard and seen outside the glorious ramshackle, claustrophobic set by Christopher and Justin Swader, lighting design by Mary Ellen Stebbins. Excellent work is also done by costume designer Fabian Fidel Aguilar.
