Fundraiser to Support Children of Montclair Schools Superintendent
The Montclair community is coming together to support the family of Montclair School Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Ponds, by starting a college fund for his three sons. A GoFundMe started by Tessie Thomas and shared by Montclair Schools PTA groups has raised more than $40,000 as of Thursday afternoon. The goal is to raise $150,000 to fund college for the Montclair Schools superintendent’s three young sons, ages 10, 12 and 14.
2 admit to prolific ransomware attacks that targeted victims in N.J., across the globe
Two foreign nationals connected to one of the most prolific ransomware attacks in the world pleaded guilty to federal charges in Newark on Thursday, U.S. officials announced. Ruslan Magomedeovic Astamirov, 21, a Russian national of the Chechen Republic and Mikhail Vasiliev, 34, from Bradford, Ontario, who holds dual citizenship in Canada and Russia, pleaded guilty to participating in the Lockbit ransomware group that targeted schools, hospitals, police departments and municipalities across New Jersey and the United States, authorities said.

I have been closely following Ram & Rooster, a Chinese-inspired tasting menu concept that opened in the Spring, since May of 2022 when Executive Chef and Owner Sean Yan took to Instagram to announce the project. It would be a full two years until the restaurant would open—building the expectations into an almost impossible-to-surmount feat.
