Police: Delivery truck driver who crashed vehicle into utility pole in Hackettstown was drunk
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - A delivery truck driver was drunk when his vehicle slammed into a utility pole in Hackettstown, New Jersey Tuesday, according to town police. Officers were on a motor vehicle stop around 3 p.m. in front of 100 Main Street, near the intersection of Main Street and Valentine Street, when the officers heard a loud crashing sound and saw a FedEx delivery truck had crashed into a utility pole at the intersection, according to a Facebook post from the Hackettstown Police Department.
Man Arrested In Denville With Active Court Warrant
DENVILLE, NJ - The Denville Police Department says they arrested a man with an active court warrant out of Paterson, New Jersey. On July 14, Denville Police stopped a vehicle after noticing the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. 63-year-old Anthony Ward of Paterson was found to have a suspended driver’s license and active court warrant. Ward was arrested and brought to Denville Police Headquarters for processing. Two foreign nationals connected to one of the most prolific ransomware attacks in the world pleaded guilty to federal charges in Newark on Thursday, U.S. officials announced. Ruslan Magomedeovic Astamirov, 21, a Russian national of the Chechen Republic and Mikhail Vasiliev, 34, from Bradford, Ontario, who holds dual citizenship in Canada and Russia, pleaded guilty to participating in the Lockbit ransomware group that targeted schools, hospitals, police departments and municipalities across New Jersey and the United States, authorities said.

The Montclair community is coming together to support the family of Montclair School Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Ponds, by starting a college fund for his three sons. A GoFundMe started by Tessie Thomas and shared by Montclair Schools PTA groups has raised more than $40,000 as of Thursday afternoon. The goal is to raise $150,000 to fund college for the Montclair Schools superintendent’s three young sons, ages 10, 12 and 14.

EAST HANOVER — Another infant has died after being left in a car in New Jersey. Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said East Hanover Police were called after a 6- month-old girl was noticed inside a vehicle parked in a parking lot on South Ridgedale Avenue at Route 10 in East Hanover around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.
