College basketball: Wagner rewards Copeland with five-year deal
Wagner College’s Northeast Conference men’s basketball championship and NCAA Tournament opening-round win in March netted a nice reward for head coach Donald Copeland. Copeland. with two years as the Seahawks’ head coach under his belt, has signed a five-year contract, college President Jeffrey A. Doggett and director of athletics Brendan Fahey announced. It is the first multi-year contract for a head coach in the history of the Wagner College athletic department.

Sparta Board of Education Amends Attendance Policy
SPARTA, NJ – The board of education is moving to update the attendance policy to reflect recent changes in state statute. Policy 5200 “Attendance" is being amended to change the definition of an “excused absence.” The student must provide a “doctor’s note” or one from the dentist, proving there was an appointment for the absence to be excused.
