Elizabeth Church Announces 180th Anniversary Celebration
ELIZABETH, NJ - St. Mary of the Assumption Church is celebrating its 180th anniversary this summer. The church will hold a celebration event on Saturday, August 3, and Sunday, August 4. College basketball: Wagner rewards Copeland with five-year deal
Wagner College’s Northeast Conference men’s basketball championship and NCAA Tournament opening-round win in March netted a nice reward for head coach Donald Copeland. Copeland. with two years as the Seahawks’ head coach under his belt, has signed a five-year contract, college President Jeffrey A. Doggett and director of athletics Brendan Fahey announced. It is the first multi-year contract for a head coach in the history of the Wagner College athletic department.

KENILWORTH, NJ - Newly appointed Chief of Police Paul Campanelli took an oath of office at the most recent council meeting on Wednesday, July 17, to become the leader of the department after the Town Council unanimously approved a resolution appointing him chief. Campanelli is the successor of former Chief Fred Soos, who retired effective June 28, 2024, after leading the KPD for more than seven and a half years. 32-year-old motorcyclist dies in crash at N.J. intersection, police say
A motorcyclist died Tuesday night after he was involved in a crash at a Union County intersection, police said. An investigation showed that a motorcycle being driven by 32-year-old Rahway resident Justin Almenas was traveling west on Madison Hill Road in Clark shortly before 8 p.m., authorities said. He collided with a sedan that was making a left onto the road from Adams Street, according to a statement from the Clark Police Department.
