Delbridge museum collection expenses cast doubt on future in Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls City Council is exploring options for the popular Delbridge Museum collection, but money appears to be a major obstacle. A work group says it would cost over a million dollars to restore the collection, and more than that to house it in a new location on city zoo property. Pierre City Commission To Meet Tonight
PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. Again, a lighter agenda will come before the Commission. Commissioners will consider approval of a six-item consent calendar. The calendar includes minutes, claims the setting of two public hearings, a new hire and a volunteer fire department application. Only three action items will come before the Commission tonight. Commissioners will consider a request to bid for the Runway 13-31 project and a memorandum of understanding and facility lease with the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce. The Commission will also consider approval of project close outwith the United States Tennis Association for a grant for the Griffin Park tennis court resurfacing project. Commissioners will close out the meeting by presenting any dialogue items they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm. The meeting is open to the public.
Post 8 Travels to Sioux Falls to Face West
Another big doubleheader is on tap for Pierre Post 8 as the Eights will travel to Sioux Falls area for the first of three times this week, taking on Sioux Falls West today. The Eights are 6-13 in South Dakota games and are closing in on clinching a spot in the playoffs which will be in a week and a half. Pierre potentially needs just one more win to guarantee a spot in the playoffs this season. However, with still six games remaining, plenty of wins can bring a high quality playoff spot and a better chance at making the state tournament. The Eights face West today, a team above them in the standings sitting at 9-13 in South Dakota games and in ninth place. Pierre faces both West and Brandon Valley in the first two doubleheaders this week, the two teams right above them in the standings as the Eights sit in 11th place.
