Last of lawsuit over Green Bay City Hall surveillance microphones settled
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- The remainder of a lawsuit regarding surveillance recordings at Green Bay City Hall has been settled, with the city paying the state $200,000. Green Bay installed the surveillance equipment, which recorded both audio and video, in late 2021 and early 2022. A lawsuit was filed in early 2023. After a circuit court judge ordered a halt to the use of the system, the city council prohibited audio surveillance.

Plea deal reached in Brian Helfert case
MENOMINEE — A plea deal has been reached in the child sex case against former Menominee County Sheriff’s deputy Brian Helfert that likely will allow him to be a free man some day. Man charged with threatening Rice Lake police
An Oshkosh man with a history of disorderly conduct in a number of Wisconsin counties is accused of threatening Rice Lake police officers who responded to incidents of alleged harassment in a city park. Jason T. Stamper, 51, was charged on Wednesday in Barron County Circuit Court with felony threatening a law enforcement officer. If convicted on this count, the defendant faces a maximum penalty of a $10,000 fine and six years in prison. ...
