Abdullah The Butcher Is Currently Hospitalized
It’s been understood for several years that Lawrence Shreve, best known to wrestling fans as Abdullah the Butcher, hasn’t been in the best of health. And now, in concerning news, it has been reported by PWInsider.com that the 83-year-old is currently hospitalized in Georgia. The exact nature of the health issue hasn’t been disclosed, although it’s believed to be an intestinal issue. Abdullah the Butcher broke into the business back in 1958 in his home country of Canada when he was still just a teenager. From there, he would move from territory to territory, perfecting his bloodthirsty madman gimmick and establishing him as a hardcore icon. Subsequently, he became a massive worldwide star, and his feuds with The Shiek, Bruiser Brody, Giant Baba, Carlos Colon, and The Funks are still considered legendary. This would result in him being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011 despite having only wrestled for the promotion a handful of times decades previously.
