State Fair set to return Thursday
FAIRLEA, W.Va. – Gates are set to open for the 99th Annual State Fair of West Virginia on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 8 AM, with carnival rides opening at 11 AM. To celebrate the return of the state’s largest multi-day event, catch opening day specials, including $8 gate admission and a $25 all-day ride pass.

UPDATE: Driver identified in fatal single-vehicle crash on Bethany Pike
OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. — Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday evening along Bethany Pike near the intersection of Warden Run Road. Authorities report that at about 7:15 p.m. a vehicle was traveling southbound on W.Va. 88 (Bethany Pike) when it went over an embankment and into a stream at the intersection of Warden Run Road.
