Pender County man back to prison for Attempted Sex Offender Violation
BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — A Pender County man is headed back to prison for 13-25 months for an attempt at failing to register as a sex offender. Najjah Mack, 47, was convicted of Aggravated Sexual Battery in Norfolk, Virginia in 2000. Upon his release from prison, he was required to register as a sex offender, with the registration period being the defendant’s lifetime (unless a petition was granted). Mack was released from prison and registered his address in Pender County in June 2007.
Pender County officials respond to fire in Hampstead
PENDER COUNTY (WWAY) — Officials in Pender County responded to a structure fire that occurred Sunday afternoon. According to Pender County EMS, the fire happened at a home off Waters Edge Drive in Hampstead. There were no injuries or fatalities at the home. Pender County officials are currently investigating to determine the cause.
