ROCHESTER MAN ALREADY SERVING 30 YEAR SENTENCE, SENTENCED TO AN ADDITIONAL 20 YEARS IN PRISON
(WNY News Now) – ROCHESTER, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that a 31-year-old resident of Rochester, NY, who was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 100 kilograms or more of marijuana, and possession of a machine gun, was sentenced to serve 20 years in prison by U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci, Jr. The sentence will be served concurrent to a 30-year sentence Fulwiley received in New York State Court for committing two homicides in July 2022 with Kelvin Vickers and Raheem Robinson. Vickers was also convicted of murdering Rochester Police Officer Anthony Mazurkiewicz and wounding Officer Sino Seng.

Governor Hochul needs to declare a Climate Emergency
On Wednesday, Governor Kathy Hochul stood outside of a church in Rome, NY for a press conference to declare a State of Emergency after the storm system that produced Hurricane Beryl passed through the state and left scars of destruction in communities like the Town of Eden. During the event, she noted the destruction of the roof and steeple behind her were part of a wider path of destruction that hit the city and the surrounding area and tornado warnings were posted from Jamestown to Plattsburgh. Pointing out that her three-year administration had to deal with more historic nature events than probably anybody in history, she added “These extreme weather events are no longer the abnormal. They are the new normal.”

The White House has made an open call for the legal community to provide assistance with immigration and asylum cases, as the backlog of cases remains at historical records. "The administration is announcing a call to action for members of the legal community, including law firms, nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders to make commitments of pro bono support for those who are unrepresented in immigration proceedings," the White House said in a statement on Wednesday.
