Rapid City man found guilty of sexually assaulting a teen
A Rapid City man has been convicted by a jury of sexually assaulting a teen, the Pennington County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday. Christopher Swimmer, 36, was convicted of two counts of fourth-degree rape which is also known as statutory rape. According to the office’s press release, Swimmer committed the crimes between Jan. 2020 and Feb. 2022.
Rapid City man sentenced to 10 years for second-degree manslaughter
A Rapid City man was sentenced to 10 years in prison with two suspended for second-degree manslaughter Friday. Caesar Duran, 21, appeared at the sentencing hearing at Pennington County Court in person wearing a gray jumpsuit. Duran had accepted a plea agreement in April with the State's Attorney’s Office, where he pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter, dropping the original charge for second-degree murder.
