PARKERSBURG — At just 17 years old, Parkersburg High School junior Catherine Hayes has already developed an impressive array of interests and achievements. She has hands-on experience caring for alpacas, she is editor-in-chief of the PHS newspaper The Journal, she’s a member of the PHS Choir where she sings in chamber, a capella and women’s ensemble and is a member of the PHS crew team.

MINERAL WELLS — The Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department has received its new fire truck and it will be put into service in a month or so. Wrestling, softball state championships staying put
PARKERSBURG — The wrestling and softball state championships aren't going anywhere. The West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission announced Thursday that Huntington and South Charleston will continue to serve as the host cities for wrestling and softball, respectively. Huntington has been selected as the host city for the state wrestling championship for 2025-28.
