I recently had the pleasure of dining at Roots Natural Kitchen and let me tell you, it was an experience! The El Jefe bowl was a delight, although I found the roasted chicken to be a bit on the dry side.
But let's talk about the salads. They toss them right in front of you, ensuring everything is mixed perfectly. I was a bit hesitant when I ordered the pesto salad, as I'm not the biggest fan of kale, but the flavors blended so well together, especially with the crunchiness of the pita chips adding a nice texture.
I also tried the Mayweather salad, which reminded me of the harvest bowl at Sweetgreen, but with a twist. It came with a half fresh avocado and the dressing combination of tahini and pesto was pure genius. The grilled chicken was super flavorful and the service was top-notch.
For those who prefer to create their own meal, they offer a 'Create Your Own' bowl. I chose the roots rice as the base, which is seasoned purple rice, and it tasted amazing. I added BBQ tofu for protein and a variety of veggies including sweet potatoes, beets, charred corn, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and avocado. The cilantro lime dressing was the perfect finishing touch, with a hint of honey and low acidity.
Roots Natural Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone looking for a healthy, fulfilling meal. They offer a wide variety of options and the service is exceptional. Can't wait to go back!
