My recent visit to Hikari Sushi was a delightful experience. This small restaurant, nestled in the heart of Philadelphia, offers a cozy atmosphere with around 20 tables inside and additional seating outdoors. The freshness of every dish is truly remarkable, from the sashimi that melts in your mouth to the rock shrimp with a hint of smoked paprika flavor. The sweet potato roll, elevated with mango and other refreshing elements, was a pleasant surprise.
The service was commendable, with the chef personally checking on us, sharing interesting details about the origin of our food and its freshness. The weekday set meals and special menus on Fridays and weekends are a must-try. The only quirk was the serving of bottled water, but the exceptional food and service made it a minor detail.
The highlight of my visit was the bluefin toro special, which was incredibly smooth and fresh. The rolls were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The tempura ice cream was a delightful end to the meal. Hikari Sushi is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving for some elevated sushi experience.
