I recently had the pleasure of dining at Took Took 98, a gem of a Thai street food restaurant. The menu is concise, yet filled with authentic Thai dishes that are free of extraneous listings. Each dish is fragrant with the characteristic spices of Thai cuisine - ginger, galangal, kafir lime, and chilies. They've mastered the art of tempering chili heat, making each bite a delightful experience. The standout dishes for me were the honey walnut shrimp in the pineapple fried rice and the Pad Thai. The 'Signature' dishes and 'Curries' are what set this place apart. The Khao Soi, Kai Mun Tod, and Kang Som (curry without the coconut milk) are worth mentioning.
The restaurant itself is small, but the dining ambiance is lovely. The staff are amiable and very knowledgeable about the menu. On a rainy day, a warm and spicy bowl of noodles from Took Took 98 really hits the spot. The depth of flavor and diversity of dishes is impressive.
To top it all off, their chocolate condensed milk cake is a must-try, especially in winter. It's a cozy, adorable place that's perfect for large parties. They're very accommodating, although they do put the entire check together for any party over 5. If you're a fan of Thai food like me, you'll definitely enjoy Took Took 98. It's a place worth coming back to, and it might just become your new favorite spot.
