My first night in town, I found myself at Yi Pin Restaurant, indulging in their BBQ skewers. The atmosphere was lively and the customer service was top-notch. I decided to try their stir-fried dry pot and spicy chicken stew, both of which were served with white rice. As someone who doesn't usually go for spicy food, I requested a milder version of the dry pot and it was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to return and sample more of their menu.

Their authentic Chinese cuisine is a delight, with a variety of dishes from barbecue to Sichuan spicy cuisine and street foods. The garlic cucumbers and soup dumplings were phenomenal, some of the best I've ever had. The crispy duck was a bit salty, but still enjoyable. The service was swift and accommodating, and the numbing spice was a hit. The pork belly appetizer, with its mix of chili oil, sweetness, and a touch of sour, was a standout. I also fell in love with the Spicy Sour Shredded Potatoes.

The restaurant was buzzing with young groups celebrating the Lunar New Year, creating a fun and festive atmosphere. Despite some confusing interior decorations, the overall experience was enjoyable. If you're in Philly and craving good Chinese food, Yi Pin is a place to consider. Just be prepared for the portions to be on the smaller side. But trust me, the flavors are worth it!
