Recently, I ventured into 'diners 2+1', a spot that's been on my radar thanks to its buzz for authentic Henan noodles and buns. The chef, with decades of experience in Henan, brings a slice of authenticity that's hard to find elsewhere. I tried the Pork Bun and Beef Bun, both of which were delightful with their rich flavors. The Chicken Soup Dumplings were a treat, and the Snow Vegetable Pork Noodles had just the right kick of traditional taste. I also indulged in the Tremella and Lily Bulb Soup, which was aromatic and made with quality ingredients.
However, my experience took an unexpected turn when I explored other offerings. The sushi, which seems to be a new addition, didn't hit the mark. The sushi rice felt dry, and the fish wasn't as fresh as I'd hoped. The BBQ, another dish I tried, was also a letdown and didn't resemble the traditional styles I was accustomed to. Despite these missteps, the service was attentive, although it seemed a bit inexperienced with the BBQ setup.
If you're a fan of genuine Henan cuisine, 'diners 2+1' is worth a visit for its noodles and buns. For those looking for sushi or BBQ, it might not meet expectations, but the restaurant's mainstay dishes are where it truly shines. It's a mixed bag, but the authentic Henan dishes are a must-try for anyone craving traditional flavors.
