Pennsylvania dog returned to shelter after 8 years, finds new home with help of viral video
The canine’s TikTok journey started on July 6, when shelter employee Sarah Brown uploaded a video of him scared and confused about his new environment. A family had adopted him eight years back when he was a puppy. However, they had to return him because of unforeseen circumstances. The pup was heartbroken and refused to eat any food provided to him.
Shelter dog Max’s viral video garnered more than two million views. It also caught the attention of an old acquaintance, who offered him a new home. The Good Samaritan wanted to bring him back to an environment he was familiar with. The shelter also believed there couldn’t be a better home for the canine. Not only was she a familiar face, but Max would feel at ease when brought back to an environment he associated with safety and love.
Brown posted an update video on TikTok to share the happy news with the community. She thanked the pup’s old friends for bringing him home with them. The shelter employee noted that he would be crossing the shelter doors “one last time.”

The dog is adjusting well to his new home that he could find thanks to his viral TikTok video. According to People , Max’s new owner stated that he is a “sweetheart.” The canine has been enjoying the first week with his new family. In the photos shared by his new owner, the pup can be seen smiling happily compared to his heartbreakingly sad expression in the shelter.
