Ronald Reagan’s Daughter Rips Trump Supporters Who Targeted Media After PA Shooting: ‘Really… This is Your Response?’

Patti Davis , the daughter of former President Ronald Reagan who made headlines throughout his time in office for opposing the GOP, criticized some of those who attended former President Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday for their immediate reaction to his shooting.

Davis was among numerous people who have had prominent family members assassinated or targeted who spoke to CNN for an upcoming Sunday special about the country’s history of political violence .

John Hinckley Jr. shot Reagan in March 1981 as he walked to his car in Washington, D.C. but the then-president survived.

On Friday, CNN aired a snippet of the interview that will air Sunday between Davis and network host Sara Snider in which Davis lamented the shooting of Trump .

Snider asked, “What was your gut reaction when you saw that? Yet another assassin tried to take out, in this case, a former president?”

Davis said she felt sympathy for Trump but she criticized some of his supporters, Davis said:

Well, I mean, I did think about his family and no matter what one thinks of Donald Trump and all of them. I mean, again, it’s a human being and other human beings were shot who were attending that rally. It was some of the attendees after Donald Trump was taken off the stage, turning around to the media and giving them the finger and you could read their lips and the words that were coming out went right along with that middle finger.

I thought really like, this is your response? Someone just died in the stands behind you. Two other people are critically wounded, the candidate who you have come to listen to – who you obviously support – was just taken with blood in the side of his head and that’s your reaction?

Corey Comperatore , a 50-year-old father and former fire chief was killed by a bullet intended for Trump last weekend.
