    Pa. Gaming Control Board reports a jackpot for 2023-24 tax revenue

    Harrisburg, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has reported that the tax revenue generated during the combined Fiscal Year 2023-24 has reached a record level of $2.54 billion.

    This tax figure takes into account record combined revenue generation of over $5.89 billion from casino slots and table games; iGaming; sports betting; video gaming terminals; and fantasy sports contests.

    The previous record-holder was combined FY 2022-23 with $2.36 billion in tax revenue.

    Current revenue and tax reports are prior to any potential adjustments made by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Revenue.

    Tax revenue from legal gaming is used for:

    School property tax reduction on an owner's primary residenceState, county, and local economic development, safety, and recreational projectsHorse racing tax revenue supports Pa. agriculture industryThe Commonwealth's General Fund

    FY 2023-24 gross revenue from in-casino slots has decreased by .56% compared to the previous year. Slots contributed $1,342,583,438 tax dollars.

    Gross revenue from table games fell by 1.64%, contributing $157,575,317 in tax revenue.

    iGaming drove the growth in both revenue and tax gains with a dramatic 27.16% increase in revenue, bringing it to an all-time high of $1,949,017,248 in revenue and $841,658,212 in taxes.

    Sports betting fell 1.10% in revenue and contributed $175,163,915 in tax revenue.

    Video gaming terminals dropped 2.40% in overall revenue compared to last fiscal year. This year's tax revenue from these terminals amounted to $21,378,627.

    Another drop was experienced by fantasy sports contests, with a 6.80% reduction in revenue. They contributed $2,889,385 to this year's tax revenue.
