Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dave McCormick targeted his Democratic opponent Senator Bob Casey with a new ad that doubles as an attack on presumptive nominee Kamala Harris, using footage from her 2019 presidential campaign to present her as the “most liberal nominee ever.”

This move comes in the wake of Casey’s endorsement of Harris for the presidency, following President Joe Biden’s recent decision not to seek re-election .

“Bob Casey just endorsed the most liberal nominee in U.S. history,” McCormick wrote in a post on X presenting the video that focuses on Harris’ most liberal policy stances considered contentious by conservatives.

The advertisement, which opens with Casey praising Harris as “inspiring and very capable,” quickly pivots to interview clips of the vice president being asked about her political stances – including past statements on immigration reform, police policies, and environmental regulations.

Notably, the ad highlights Harris’ declaration that she would not treat undocumented border crossers as criminals as well as her support for banning fracking and passing the Green New Deal. The video claims that Harris backed “voting rights for terrorists, murders, rapists” and “healthcare for illegals.” The ad also claims that Harris wants to “defund the police” and supports “gun confiscation by force.”

The advert aims to tie Casey to Harris’ policy positions, which he argues are out of step with Pennsylvania voters.

A recent poll of the race conducted by SoCal Research shows Casey leading McCormick by 10 points.
