Presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris ’ vice presidential selection process is nearing an end—and she has narrowed the pool of candidates down to two, according to a new report from Reuters . The vice president plans to select either Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro or Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, according to three sources close to the campaign who spoke with the wire service. Also making the final shortlist were Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, according to Reuters. Harris is set to make her big announcement Tuesday, and the newly minted Democratic ticket is scheduled to make its first public appearance later that night in Philadelphia. The event is the first in a barnstorming tour of swing states across the country, with stops in seven cities over just five days. Advising Harris on the decision is a small circle of trusted family and friends, including her husband, Doug Emhoff, her brother-in-law Tony West, and several advisers.
