All gates onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola swiftly reopened after a brief closure Wednesday.

Around 11:47 a.m., NAS Pensacola released on X, formerly known as Twitter, that both the main and west gates were closed, causing slight traffic delays.

A spokesperson for the base told the News Journal that Navy Security Forces closed the gates after a "gate runner" failed to show their ID when entering the base. NAS Pensacola says NSF "swiftly and expertly controlled the situation." and there was no harm to the public or base personnel.

Within 30 minutes, all gates resumed normal operations.
