River Road in Perdido Key could soon be getting a new RV park.

The Old River Resort proposal is seeking to construct a new RV park in Perdido Key with an accompanying restaurant on River Road that will span across nearly six acres.

The developers behind the proposal plan to build 26 concrete, upscale RV sites, 12 bungalows, a clubhouse, amenity area and a pool. One access road is also planned to lead motorists onto River Road.

For the commercial side, they’ve proposed building a pile-supported restaurant on potential wetlands that will also get a parking lot across River Road. The parking lot is planned to be about 1.3 acres and consist of 98 spaces.

The name of the restaurant is not available yet.

This project has been in the works for just over six months, but the group behind it has already had some modifications to their initial plans.

Developers filed their first set of plans with the county on March 22, in which they proposed that the RV park consist of solely RV sites and no bungalows. There were also no plans for a restaurant in this version of their proposal.

The narrative form from this stage shows that developers wanted to create 44 concrete-upscale RV sites instead of the 26 spots that their recent plans propose.

Escambia County’s Development Review Committee has not yet reviewed the project after their latest plans were filed on Sept. 27.
