    the woman is obviously still grieving. perhaps if she could show you pictures of her daughter, talk about her, show her a genuine interest and sympathy. maybe point out some good features of her daughter and tell her (truthfully) you hope your daughter can emulate that trait as well . let her talk about her daughter. listen, not just hear. talking about a lost loved one to sympathetic ears can do wonders in healing a broken heart. be patient. she may turn out to be your daughter's biggest fan
