I'm a CCRN specializing in neurological trauma so I knew looking at my first son that something was off but everyone said it was just because of the delivery. At the 6-week check up I insisted they listen to me because it was like a line had been drawn down the middle of his face. The left side was fine but the right side didn't flush when he cried and it didn't sweat. So after several days on the phone (no internet) and he was diagnosed with Horners syndrome. He laid on that side too long in utero and compressed the maxofacial nerve. I often wonder if anyone would have known if I hadn't insisted.
