    This is a very unfortunate situation but the caretaker knew better . For some reason he took it upon him self to leave the security gate unlocked in which was a MAJOR NO NO . Why was he feeding after hours any ways ? Sounds not to have been routine . I don't agree with putting the lion down as they did . They could have tranquilized him instead of taking his life . Seems that he was acting from his own natural instincts . These guys are trained , the caretakers . The lion was not . I feel it's sad that a human lost his life but it was by his own error . So that means that the lion should have lost his as well . Again, they have tranquilizer darts, why didn't they use them? Why was the lion being fed after hours ? This should be a lesson that ALL caretakers should take heed to. Maybe there should be better training, better ways of handling these sort of situations .Sorry
