Benji Gregory, who played the role of young Brian Tanner on the television sitcom ALF , died on June 13th at the age of 46.

Gregory’s sister told TMZ that her brother was found dead in his car in a Peoria, Arizona parking lot. A cause of death is still under investigation, but Gregory suffered from from depression, bipolar disorder, and a severe sleep disorder. His family believes he went to the bank to deposit a check, fell asleep in his car, and died from a vehicular heatstroke.

Gregory starred on ALF from 1986 to 1990, appearing in a total of 101 episodes as the Tanner family’s middle child.

Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Gregory also made guest appearances on shows including Murphy Brown , The A-Team , T.J. Hooker , Amazing Stories , and Punky Brewster .

In 2003, Gregory enlisted in the US Navy. He served two years before receiving an honorable medical discharge.
