Northwest Valley forces came together July 17 to help Eve’s Place and youths getting ready for the upcoming school year.

A number of groups donated school supplies and personal items to Avanti Senior Living, 26850 N. Lake Pleasant Pkwy., where the items were packed into backpacks for the students.

Donors included First Citizen’s Bank in Sun City West, Christ’s Church of the Valley, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and the surrounding community.

Donations included $1,800 for school supplies, 120 backpacks from an anonymous donor, along with another 100 backpacks and school supplies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

At the event, members of Avanti Senior Living community and community members helped fill the backpacks which were handed over to Eve’s Place who will deliver them to the children.

Billet Health donated donuts for the event.

The mission of Eve’s Place is to empower victims of domestic, sexual and teen dating abuse by increasing access to services through mobile advocacy.
