    Rams beat Knights at Class 3A Boys Basketball State semifinals

    CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WMBD) — The Richwoods Knights lost to the Chicago DePaul College Prep Rams at the 2024 IHSA Boys Basketball State Championship semifinals Class 3A game at The State Farm Center in Champaign on Friday.

    The final score was 52 to 41.

    The Knights fell to the number three team after knocking off the number one and Two teams in the final four.

    Richwoods got it within 2 in the third quarter, but DePaul went on a mini 4-0 run over the final minute to push the deficit back to 6.

    The Knights trailed most of the game with the score at 32 to 26 in favor of the Rams at the end of the third quarter, 20 to 14 in favor of the Rams at the half, and 8 to 5 in favor of the Rams at the end of the first quarter.

    Knights get royal treatment as school sends off basketball team in rousing pep rally

    This is the farthest Richwoods has gone since they took second in the state during their 2010 run.

    Richwoods will be playing against Mt. Zion for third place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

    The Rams will be playing Chicago Mount Carmel in the Class 3A finals on Saturday.
