ST. LOUIS (WMBD/WYZZ) — Bradley had a chance but Drake seemed to always have the answer.

Tucker DeVries hit a jumper in the lane with :20 left to give Drake a three-point lead and the Bulldogs hung on to beat Bradley, 72-67, in the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament at Enterprise Center.

Bradley’s Connor Hickman attempted a three-point shot to tie the game in the final seconds but it was off the mark. DeVries tracked down the rebound with :02 left and was fouled.

The MVC player of the year made the two free throws to round out the scoring and make it a five-point win for the Bulldogs. Drake plays Indiana State for the MVC championship at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Bradley led by as many as 14 points in the second half but the game was tied at 38 at the half. Christian Davis connected on reverse lay-up with 8:40 to play to give Bradley it’s final lead at 58-56.
