Prep sports recap for April 17, 2024

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Eli Michanicou and Gabe Munoz hit solo homers to help Dunlap beat visiting East Peoria, 4-3, in Mid-Illini Conference baseball on Wednesday.

The Eagles (15-2, 5-0) swept both games from EP during the week and sits alone in first place in the conference standings. Washington and Morton both won at home to stay a game behind Dunlap.

Normal Community, Metamora, Brimfield-Elmwood, Illini Bluffs and Peoria Christian also won in baseball. Metamora, East Peoria, Dunlap, and Brimfield-Elmwood were among the softball winners on Wednesday.

Notre Dame, Richwoods and Pekin won girls soccer games.
