    After executing search warrant, police arrest Peoria man in connection with 2023 homicide

    Police have arrested a 24-year-old Peoria man as a suspect in a 2023 homicide.

    Police responded to a call of shots fired at a residence in the 800 block of South Helen Street in Peoria last August. On arrival, they found an adult male inside the residence with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

    During the investigation, detectives identified Rashaard K. Nunn, 24, as a suspect. Peoria police executed a search warrant at his residence in the 1400 block of W. Glen and seized illegal drugs, drug equipment, drug packaging, and a large amount of currency.

    Nunn was taken him into custody for an interview.

    Nunn was subsequently arrested on the charge of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting and was transported to the Peoria County Jail. He also faces charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
