Rain showers are "likely" to occur before 10 a.m. on Thursday, with thunderstorms and continuing rain between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. likely as well. A chance of thunderstorms is also possible after 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, which puts the total chance for precipitation on Thursday at 60%.

What happens if Red, White and Boom gets rained out?

At this point, you could flip a coin as to whether inclement weather will delay Peoria's Red, White and Boom fireworks show on the Peoria riverfront.

The National Weather Service says there is a 50% chance of rain and storms Thursday evening in Peoria.

Riverfront fireworks are scheduled to begin around 9:30 p.m.

If rain and storms to hit Thursday night, the fireworks show will take place at the same time, in the same place on Friday, July 5.

The weather forecast for Friday is much more promising, as the National Weather Service is indicating mostly clear skies.
