PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Needing a win or a draw in either of their last two games of the season to clinch a playoff berth, Peoria City was able to do so with a 2-2 draw against the Des Moines Menace in their home finale on Saturday.

Former Bradley player DJ Koulai scored in the first half off a nice pass from Jose Gomez to make it a 1-0 game at halftime.

Des Moines tied it up, but Luke Persenico answered with a goal of his own to make it a 2-1 Peoria City lead. Des Moines tied it up again with little time to spare, and that is how the match finished.

They remain two points behind Des Moines in the standings with one game to go on the season. Peoria City’s regular season concludes next Saturday against Sueno FC in Joliet.
