    Winnie the Pooh voice actor, pro wrestling icon coming to Peoria for annual Quad Con

    The Quad Con Comic and Toy Show is returning to Peoria this month, and it is bringing guests from across the entertainment spectrum like former pro wrestler Jake “The Snake” Roberts and iconic animation voices Jim Cummings and Lizzie Freeman.

    Roberts is best known as a wrestler with World Wrestling Federation in the 1980's and 1990's, and currently manages different wrestlers. Cummings has voiced over 600 roles in his four decades as a voice actor, including Winnie the Pooh, the Tasmanian Devil and Darkwing Duck. He has also voiced roles in movies like “Shrek,” “The Lion King,” and “Aladdin.” Freeman, a Los Angeles-based voice actress, is known for the title role of the animated adventure series “The Amazing Digital Circus,” as well as roles in the animated series "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure" and the video game "Genshin Impact."

    Quad Con will include 200 tables of pop culture, ranging from artists and vendors to role-playing games to vintage magazines and posters. It also will host a $500 video game tournament, $500 costume contest, a Battlebot tournament, a Magic the Gathering Tournament and live wrestling matches.

    The non-profit organization Helping Hannah’s Heart Foundation will hold a silent auction at Quad Con to raise money for children with heart defects. Each item will begin at $5.

    Quad Con is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Peoria Civic Center. Tickets are available at the Peoria Civic Center box office at 201 S.W. Jefferson Avenue, Peoria. Admission is $20 for a weekend pass, $15 for Saturday entry and $10 for Sunday entry.
