Update 12:10pm: A tornado watch is now in effect until 7pm Thursday, May 9, for Bryan, Bulloch, Candler, Chatham, Effingham, Evans, Jenkins, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Screven, and Tattnall counties. The National Weather Service in Charleston is predicting strong storms across the region this afternoon. A cold front will approach with widespread rain and thunderstorms.
