    Sell named interim superintendent Brian Smith Tue, 06/25/2024 - 9:44 pm LOREN SELL During a special-called meeting Tuesday, June 18, Perrin-Whitt CISD board members approved Loren Sell as interim superintendent. Sell, the district’s secondary school principal, will oversee the district as board members look for a full-time superintendent to replace Cliff Gilmore, who died Monday, June 10. The district will pay Sell $500 a day plus expenses while he is in the role. The district will be using the services of Region 9 Education Service Center in their search for a new leader. Region 9 ESC assists school boards with the search process when there is a vacancy in the superintendent position, at no cost to the district. No timeframe for hiring a new full-time superintendent was given. According to the job listing posted June 19 on the PWCISD website, the district is accepting internal applications only. Gilmore came to the district out of retirement but had been in Aspermont before he came to Perrin. Sell started in Perrin in 2004 as an agriculture teacher but went to Jacksboro in 2013 to take a position in the agriculture department. He returned to Perrin in 2018 to become a secondary principal. The board’s next regularly scheduled meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 28.
