Free Palestine Denton hosted a fundraiser last Sunday to raise money and support for Palestinian families and individuals. The event raised over $1,500 in three hours. Free Palestine Denton is an advocacy group whose purpose is “to advocate for Palestine within Denton,” according to Amira Rasoul, organization co-founder and one of the leads of the fundraiser.

Ground-based mosquitoes spraying to occur July 5 & 6 in Zones 3 & 5
The city of Burleson was notified that mosquitoes in Zones 3 and 5 tested positive for West Nile Virus. In response, the city will be conducting truck-based spraying for two nights this weekend. Fort Worth celebrates Fourth at Panther Island Pavilion
Fort Worth's Fourth at Panther Island is the "biggest fireworks show and Independence Day celebration in DFW." Fort Worth's Fourth takes place annually at Panther Island Pavilion, just outside downtown Fort Worth. With soaring temperatures across the metroplex, it's important to stay hydrated. MedStar said they're prepared for the extreme heat and will have multiple crews on-site to provide care if needed. Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the annual Independence Day event and brave the Texas heat. Fourth of July fashion includes red, white and blue everything. Live music performances are scheduled throughout the night at Panther Island Pavilion. Activities such as face painting, water slides, a zip line and various inflatables fill the afternoon ahead of the highly anticipated fireworks show. Even the cutest spectators have their seats prepared to watch the fireworks. The fireworks show is expected to begin around 9:30 p.m. and lasts about 30 minutes.
