Return to Gar Creek, Indiana
A buddy of mine, Scott Staub, spent his career teaching at a Lutheran school in Woodburn, Indiana. Just down the road from his school is a little place known as Gar Creek. Seven years ago, I published the attached story about a couple from Perry County who ended up living in Gar Creek for most of their lives. Rev. John Beyer, the son of a pastor who once served Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg married Clara Lueders, the daughter of a Wittenberg storekeeper. Pastor Beyer ended up serving St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gar Creek, Indiana for a lot of years. Nowadays, this congregation has a New Haven, Indiana address. If you would like to visit their website, you can click on the link below. You can see that their website address still refers to their Gar Creek location.
