NEW LEXINGTON — Perry County Job and Family Services (JFS) is embarking on a momentous project for Perry County, as the agency has partnered to merge with Perry County Children Services and establish a “quad combined” agency. Amy Frame, director of Children Services, has been promoted to director of JFS, and the decision has been made for the Children Services board to come to an end as Perry County JFS will now serve as the Children Services agency.

The two organizations have a target completion date set for Jan. 1, 2025. Director Frame expressed her support and confidence for the merger at the Perry County Commissioners meeting Sept. 21, telling the board, “Usually this happens when people are at the bottom but we’re doing it when we’re at the top, and it’s great to be at the top!”

Several dates have been set up to get the staff of the two organizations acquainted with one another. One of which was Sept. 18, when the staffs had their first meet and greet. The two organizations are saying that every decision has been a group effort, especially as they are incorporating policies, finances, and reviewing all aspects as thoroughly as possible to ensure a seamless transition and make sure all decisions are benefici l for both the county and employees of the agencies.

In the meantime, encouragement has been expressed for all agencies to utilize the Perry County Opportunity Center During their regular business hours, Monday- Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. For further assistance reach out to Brooke Cannon at brooke.cannon@jfs.ohio.gov.
