The city of Perry recently announced the arrival of the AmeriCorps Maple 5 Team, who will be joining the city to embark on several community projects aimed at enhancing local infrastructure and fostering community well-being. This dedicated team of AmeriCorps members will be working tirelessly from July 12 to Sept. 5 on a series of impactful initiatives across the city.

The AmeriCorps Maple 5 Team will be focusing their efforts on a variety of projects, including building an indoor batting facility at Pattee Park, Renovations at the American Legion building, rehabilitation of housing with Dallas County Habitat for Humanity, initial development of a campground, beautification of parks and public spaces, and outreach programs with community organizations. These projects are designed not only to improve the physical environment but also to strengthen community bonds and support residents in meaningful ways.

"We are thrilled to welcome the AmeriCorps Maple 5 Team to Perry," said Sven Peterson, City Administrator. "Their dedication and expertise will play a crucial role in advancing our community projects, which will benefit residents of all ages and backgrounds."

Community members are encouraged to support the AmeriCorps Maple 5 Team in their efforts to make a positive impact in Perry. Ways to support include volunteering alongside the team, donating resources or materials for project completion, providing a meal through Meal Train, making them feel welcomed in Perry by saying hello and thank them for their work when you see them out, and participating in community events and outreach activities facilitated by AmeriCorps members.
