PERRY, Utah — A woman and man from East Idaho were airlifted to a northern Utah hospital after their vehicle was hit from behind and rolled early Tuesday morning on Interstate 15 near Perry.

At 3:21 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, a sport-utility vehicle heading north slowed suddenly and was struck from behind by a trailing vehicle at mile marker 360, according to Cpl. Luis Silva of the Utah Highway Patrol.

The SUV went off the road and rolled, ejecting the driver and a passenger, neither of whom were wearing seat belts.

The driver of the SUV, Reina Walker, of Shelley, and the passenger, Victor Huff, of Idaho Falls, were flown via emergency helicopter to a nearby hospital and remained there in serious condition on Wednesday, according to Silva.
