Authorities responded to the intersection of Convery Boulevard and Pfeiffer Boulevard on Aug.&nbsp;7, 2022, at approximately 8:29 p.m., following the report of a white Dodge Charger that fled the scene after fatally striking an older male.&nbsp;The victim was identified as 72-year-old Rocco Chirichillo, of Perth Amboy, who was crossing the roadway using a walker. Upon their arrival, authorities located Chirichillo, who had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. <nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate> An investigation was conducted by the Perth Amboy Police Department, and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, which determined that Hansel Farrier-Romero&nbsp;was the driver of the white Dodge Charger that struck and killed Mr. Chirichillo and then fled the scene. Farrier-Romero was arrested later that day and charged with second-degree Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash Resulting in Death.
