Fireworks Set for July 3 in Perth Amboy

PERTH AMBOY - You don't want to miss the fireworks spectacular tonight, July 3, on the Raritan Bay.

The action begins at 3 p.m. on the Perth Amboy waterfront, with activities all day, culminating with a fireworks display set for 9:20 p.m.  There will be food trucks, artisans and other vendors throughout the celebration,.

There is a free shuttle service to the waterfront beginning at 3 p.m. from the following locations:
- Perth Amboy Free Public Library (196 Jefferson Street)
- Jefferson Street Parking Deck (151 Jefferson Street)

Please note all streets south of Lewis Street will be closed by 6 p.m. There will be free meter parking after 5 p.m. in the downtown district and public parking lots. There is no parking on Sadowski Parkway (both sides), Water Street from High to Lewis (both sides), and Water Street from Lewis to Gordon (east side of the roadway).

If you go, some important notes:

- No public drinking of alcoholic beverages.
- Beach Access will be closed, and swimming is prohibited.
-  No parking where signs are posted. Vehicles will be ticketed and towed.
-  NJ State law prohibits the use of aerial fireworks.
- Pets and fireworks are strongly discouraged during the fireworks performance for their safety and the safety of the general public.
- Fishing piers will be closed at 6 p.m. on July 3 and will reopen at midnight.
