If you get a text or an email from “Fix California” don’t answer. It’s a Republican ‘voter integrity’ scam to ‘secure our elections.’. While the scam tells you there’s a problem with your voter registration and sends you to an actual government site, getting you to re-register may allow them to tag you as a double ballot, creating a problem where there was none, and invalidating your vote.
3 Redwood City police officers injured in confrontation with shoplifter
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Three Redwood City police officers are recovering after being assaulted while trying to question a suspected shoplifter. Police say they also faced hostile behavior from a large group of bystanders while they were trying to subdue the man. One of the officers suffered a fractured ankle in the melee while another suffered a cut to the head which required stitches. A third officer received a minor cut which did not require medical treatment.

Death of man found in Palo Alto parking garage ruled a homicide
The death of a man who was found in a parking garage in Palo Alto last week has been ruled a homicide, police said Monday.Around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, officers were called to the city parking garage on the 400 block of Bryant Street after a reports of a person down on the first floor. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.An autopsy performed by the Santa Clara County Coroner the next day confirmed that the victim died by homicide via blunt force trauma to the head.The victim's name has not been released. Police said he was a man in his 60s who appeared to be part of the unhoused community. No arrests have been made in the case.Anyone who may have information about the case can call the Palo Alto Police Department at 650-329-2413. Atherton Police’s newest employee is Emmy the therapy dog

Palo Alto police search for man who entered apartment while residents were sleeping
Police in Palo Alto are looking for a man who entered an occupied apartment early this weekend, the department said Friday. On Saturday at about 9:50 a.m., police received a call reporting a burglary that occurred overnight at an apartment on the 800 block of University Avenue. A woman in her 30s awoke to find her bathroom window open and items in her bedroom and bathroom disturbed, which she said must have occurred after she went to sleep around midnight. The woman's roommate had also been at home and asleep in another room. No suspect was seen or heard....
