Richmond: Stege Elementary to Temporarily Close for Rebuild
The West Contra Costa Unified School District announced last week that Stege Elementary School Campus will temporarily close for a rebuild of the campus. The announcement came from Superintendent Kenneth C Hurst Sr via a letter announcing the closure to start the 2024-25 school year. He said WCCUSD has chosen the DeJean Middle School campus as the temporary location to accommodate two separate school communities with minimal impact on student learning and daily operations.

Santa Cruz County officers arrest three people in connection to robbery
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CALIF. (KION-TV)- Multiple Santa Cruz County units arrested one adult and two juveniles in connection to a robbery that happened last Friday. On July 26th, Capitola Police responded to robbery at a commercial business near 41st Avenue. According to officials, three suspects stole a large amount of merchandise before fleeing the scene. An employee was also threatened by one suspect, who said he had a firearm and would attack the employee.
