    Peshtigo eighth graders tour Washington, D.C.

    Peshtigo eighth grade students and family members explored and experienced Washington, D.C. recently.

    Participants toured the U.S. Capitol building where Congress meets. Students were able to see the Constitution and Bill of Rights in person. Students explored President Washington’s estate, Mount Vernon, as well as Ford’s Theatre where President Lincoln was assassinated. The group learned about Arlington Cemetery and Memorial and was able to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

    Students experienced four Smithsonian museums in addition to the U.S. Holocaust Museum. Learning didn’t stop there. Students and family members also visited many memorials, including the WWII Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial. The trip concluded with a visit to the 9/11 Memorial at the Pentagon.
